The Welles Juice Press (which is now branded as the Peoples Juice Press) extracts juice containing high levels of nutrients from fruit and vegetables by pressing (squeezing) the fruit and vegetable pulp so that the nutrients and juice are forced out from the pulp fibres due to the pressure exerted on the pulp. The pressure exerted by the pressing method is thought to release extra nutrients and enzymes that would otherwise 'adhere' to the pulp when compared with other methods of juice extraction such as centrifugal juicers.
The Peoples Juice press measures 14" height x 9" x 9" and weighs 20 lbs. It is made from white powder-coated steel and has a stainless steel splash plate.
It is a manual juice press and works by placing the fruit and vegetable pulp from another juicer (such as the Champion Juicer with the blank screen) and placing it in the supplied pressing cloth. You can also use the Juice Press with whole produce such as grapes by placing them directly into the pressing cloth. The cloth is then folded over and placed onto the pressing tray and the tray is then raised up to the pressing plate by manually pumping the Juice Presses handle. When the pressing cloth containing the pulp is squeezed between the tray and the pressing plate the juice and nutrients are extracted from the pulp and flow out into a collecting vessel.
To clean the Peoples Juice Press slide the tray out along with the press plate. You can then rinse them in warm water. You will also need to rinse the pressing cloth which can then be kept in the freezer to keep it sterile.
The Welles Juice Press comes with a one year warranty. When used in combination with other juicers (especially centrifugal juicers) you may experience anything from 15 to 55% extra juice extraction depending on the juicer and the type of produce being juiced.
For patients who are frail it may be worth considering the Norwalk Juice Press as an alternative to the Peoples Juice press as it does not require and effort as the hydraulic press is powered by electric rather than manually. The Welles juice press is however considerably cheaper than the Norwalk Juice press.
The idea of pressing fruits and vegetable to release the juice is not a new one, indeed the Romans used to tread grapes in huge baths to press the juice out of them. Last century Dr Norman Walker studied the nutritional benefits of Juice Presses and helped develop the Norwalk Juice Press. Later Dr. Max Gerson used Dr. Walker’s findings as a basis for his own studies that led to the development of the Gerson Therapy. The Gerson Therapy combined the drinking of large amounts of vegetable and fruit juices with other cleansing and regenerative methods to combat and heal serious medical conditions and diseases. Dr. Gerson recommended Juice Presses as a necessary tool for patients who undertook the Gerson Therapy and wanted to achieve the maximum success possible.
Pressing reclaims lost nutrients from vegetable pulp.
The pulp from organic vegetables is too valuable to be discarded. Pressing actually releases vitamins, minerals and enzymes that literally "bind" to the pulp. The hydraulic pressure separates these bioavailable nutrients which as powerful healing agents by dramatically improving red blood cell function. The "live" enzymes renew the tissues of the body.
Allows benefits of green leafy vegetables to be realized.
The healing forces of these "best of vegetables" can only be achieved through pressing.
Regeneration and immune enhancement. Juice pressing heals disease through regeneration of the cells. Immunity comes from the soils. Pressing vegetable juice releases the immune regenerative forces of the land.
Homeopathic chem-free improves vitality of vegetables dramatically. This advanced homeopathic product purifies and increases the vital force of the vegetables. The pressed juice from the vital vegetables is quickly assimilated and produces a surprising energy lift. This vital energy is used to heal the body.
How to Press
Take the pulp which is normally discarded and place in the supplied pressing cloth. Fold cloth over pulp and place on tray. Raise the tray up by pumping the handle up and down for 10-15 seconds. Juice will flow into collecting jar, ready to drink.
Clean-up is simple.
Slide the tray and press plate out and rinse these two in warm water. The cloth should also be rinsed in warm water, and put into the freezer to keep sterile.
