Our milled organic Rockweed is harvested in the cold, clean waters of Iceland and dried at low temperatures using geo-thermal heat, so the heat-sensitive nutrients remain intact. Rockweed powder contains 1.5 mg of iodine per gram - about 3 times less than Kelp powder (Laminaria digitata) which has 4.7 mg of iodine per gram. And like most other seaweeds, Rockweed's full complement of minerals and trace elemets creates an alkalinizing effect on the body. Rockweed is primarily used as a powder in drinks, teas or supplements because the whole leaf form is considered by most to have an unusual aroma and slightly bitter taste when cooked.
Try This Fantasic Cheese Dip Made With Our Rockweed Powder!Ingredients:
1 (8 ounce) package processed cheese food (such as Velveeta®)
2 tablespoons reduced-fat cream cheese
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1/2 cup cooked small shrimp
1/2 cup cooked crabmeat, flaked
1/2 cup cooked lobster, flaked
1 tsp Rockweed Seaweed Powder
2 teaspoons seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 loaf (1/2-inch-thick) slices French bread, lightly toasted
Directions:
Combine processed cheese food, cream cheese, sour cream, shrimp, crab, and lobster in a crockpot. Cover and cook on Low heat until cheese is melted, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally to break up lumps. Once the cheese is melted, stir in seafood seasoning, rockweed powder and Worcestershire sauce. Serve with French bread.
