Magnesium is a natural tranquilizer. Called the "anti-stress mineral," magnesium aids in relaxing nerves, relieving tension, assisting digestion, activating enzymes important for protein and carbohydrate metabolism and for modulating the electrical potential across all cell membranes.
Magnesium is important in the production and transfer of energy, muscle contraction and relaxation and nerve conduction. Magnesium also aid regularity, is necessary to keep vertebrae in their proper position, induces restful sleep, purifies and purges body tissues (combats acids, toxins, gases, impurities and neutralizes poisons) and lowers fever. Magnesium is stored in the bowel, nerves and ligaments. Chlorophyll and green vegetables contain large amounts of Magnesium.
Some Symptoms of Magnesium Deficiency:
Asthma, anorexia, cramps, calcification of organs, calcification of small arteries, depression, ECG changes, growth failure, headaches, kidney stones, migraines, muscular weakness, muscle tremors, malignant calcification of tissue, muscle tics, myocardial infarction, neuromuscular problems, PMS, vertigo, and wrinkles.
Note:
Magnesium benefits and/or deficiency symptoms are generic for the mineral. No product claims are being made or implied.
Ionic* Magnesium (3,000 ppm), Purified Water.
* "Most minerals [from food] are 8-12% absorbable, Chelated Minerals are 40% absorbable, and liquid... Minerals are 98% absorbable, being 7000 times smaller than Red blood cells, with negative-charge for absorption." - Joseph B. Marion; Anti-aging Manual. ("With a negative charge" means the minerals are ionic.)
Suggested Use for Magnesium:
Adults: 1/2 to 1 ounce (1 to 2 tablespoons) daily. May be added to fruit or vegetable juice.
Important Notes Concerning Magnesium:
The suggested daily amount of Magnesium is an absolute minimum intended to supplement a very well balanced diet. Should your diet be less than perfect, increasing your Magnesium intake may be beneficial.
These days even well balanced diets may not provide all the essential nutrients. In 1936 Rex Beach stated in Senate Document #264, "The alarming fact is that foods--fruits and vegetables and grains--now being raised on millions of acres of land that no longer contains enough of certain needed minerals, are starving us--no matter how much of them we eat!" Do our farm lands produce any better crops today?
Since ionic Magnesium does not build up in the body, it never reaches toxic levels. Therefore feel free to find the amount that works best for you.
Annette Hasalone-Eve, N.D. suggests that our intake of Magnesium to Calcium should be a 2:1 ratio in favor of Magnesium. Using equal amounts of Angstrom Minerals™ Calcium and Angstrom Minerals™ Magnesium provides that important balance. Magnesium is usually best taken in the morning, and Calcium in the evening. These minerals both use the same cell receptor sites. Therefore separating Magnesium from Calcium reduces the competition for cell entry.
