Benzoin gum powder has historically been used as a fixative in soap for fragrance and fresh fruits (though whether it works is open to some heated debate). It is a known sensitizer and you should use this product sparingly in your products.Benzoin gum is a balsamic resin obtained from the bark of trees in the genus Styrax. It is commonly employed in perfumes and incense as a fixative.
Benzoin Gum is grown in Southeast Asia, the tree grows to 28 feet with pointed leaves and clusters of white flowers. The resin is formed when when the tree, at least 7 years old, is axed and after a period of time the tree yields the liquid Benzoin. After it has run for a time, the tree is cut down and gutted for the remaining resin.
Dosage:
Apply Benzoin Gum topically for infections or wounds and ingest for internal conditions.
